Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole is the most popular ski resort in the state of Wyoming, and with good reason.

Particularly popular with expert skiers thanks to the large number of challenging slopes that surround it, Jackson Hole has a reputation for great levels of snow, huge drops and unique challenges.

A new gate system has made the slopes of Jackson Hole more accessible than ever before, and is more than capable of dealing with the ever-increasing number of people who want to explore everything the resort has to offer.

Whilst there are options for beginners, they are much more limited than other North American resorts so if you are part of novice group then Jackson Hole may not be for you. That’s not to say beginners aren’t welcome, far from it, with the resort having a renowned ski school to help people get up to speed.

There just isn’t the large number of beginner runs that other North American resorts may be able to offer.

Instead, it is the chutes, moguls and steep slopes that pull in the expert skiers that have given Jackson Hole its reputation – with Rendezvous Mountain being the major attraction.

Off Piste Skiing in Jackson Hole

The expert skiing at Jackson Hole is first rate and may well be sufficient for those who are looking for a more adrenaline-fuelled experience on the slopes.

If you do elect to head off-piste, be warned that much of the landscape is suitable only for the most experienced skiers and even then, use of a guide is highly recommended.

Family Skiing in Jackson Hole

Despite the limited options for beginners, Jackson Hole still has plenty of appeal for the family market.

That includes a special Kids Ranch where youngsters can undergo ski lessons, special daycare facilities and camps that are suitable for teenagers.

Family friendly accommodation and dining is also available.

Apres-Ski in Jackson Hole

There is plenty of après-ski available within Jackson Hole, with a varied selection of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes.

Many of the top resorts are located within Teton Village in the heart of the action, meaning you don’t need to go far to grab a refreshing drink or a bite to eat.

Non-Skiing Activities in Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole has plenty to offer those who want to take a break from the slopes, with skating snowmobiling, sleigh rides and horse riding amongst the activities that can enjoyed.

There are also first class spas for those who want to take things easy.

Given how close you are to the Yellowstone National Park, you could also spend a day on a special trip to see the sights, to marvel at the local wildlife or to relax in a hot spring.
