The Star Arctic Hotel offers guests the use of a sauna and a gift shop that features Sami handcrafted goods. Meals are taken in the on-site restaurant that serves a variety of dishes from around the world. The hotel also offers ski equipment hire and ski storage. Wine tasting is held on-site next to the open fireplace in the spacious lounge.

Saariselka is in the north of Finland, 250 metres above the Arctic Circle. Skiing is ideal for families with lots of gentle slopes for beginners and intermediate skiers. The small village has an array of bars and clubs for apres-ski and plenty of shops for those handmade souvenirs.

Activities in the area, apart from skiing, include reindeer sleigh rides, husky safaris, snowmobile safaris, bowling and hiking trails. If you are lucky, in the winter, you may see the amazing Northern Lights. Of course, a family holiday in Lapland would not be the same in the winter months without a visit to see Santa Claus and his elves in his magical grotto.
