Gressoney

Gressoney sits in the middle of the Monterosa ski area, which is widely regarded as one of the largest ski areas in Italy. The traditional old village is packed with history, with buildings lining cobbled streets that will leave you feeling as though you have taken steps back to a previous era.

With plenty of high peaks nearby, Gressoney is a great place to ski regardless of your ability and you don't need to be consigned to the main slopes either, with plenty of off-piste opportunities available if you want to head further afield.

Gressoney itself is split into two areas - Staffal and La Trinité - and you will have access to plenty of top quality skiing whichever you choose. Après is more low key than in some other resorts, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of bars and restaurants that you can sample after a day on the slopes.

Off Piste Skiing in Gressoney

There’s no shortage of off-piste action available in Gressoney, which is suited to both advanced skiers and could also appeal to the more confident intermediate.

In fact, when the snowfall has been particularly good, the off-piste in the valley is classed amongst the best in the Monte Rosà region – which says a lot considering the fantastic options that are available.

Family Skiing in Gressoney

Gressoney is ideal for families looking for a ski holiday, with a nursery area that offers ample opportunity to learn the ropes or boost confidence before moving to the next level.

The quiet nature of the resort will also appeal to those with children, with a range of family friendly accommodation available.

Apres-Ski in Gressoney

The après-ski within Gressoney is largely based around relaxed bars and cafes where you can have a drink with friends at leisure after a day on the slopes.

There is also plenty of dining options within the resort, with local dishes being a particular specialty.

Non-Skiing Activities in Gressoney

Non-ski options include a natural ice rink, snowshoeing and toboggan rides.

Cross-country and heli-skiing is also something to be enjoyed away from the main ski slopes.
