If you are looking for a little bit of history in a ski holiday then the Hotel La Vieille Ferme in the French resort of Serre Chevalier is a fantastic option that is sure to tick plenty of boxes. The hotel sits around five minutes walk from the centre of the resort and close to the nearest lift which can be accessed either on foot of via the ski bus that stops nearby.
Hotel La Vieille Ferme is based in what was originally a traditional farmhouse built back in the early 1700s, which means guests can expect to be greeted by plenty of character and style the moment they walk in the door. Accommodation is made up of double rooms that are all unique in their design, with old timber beams and limewashed walls reflecting the authentic nature of the old building. Located in a vaulted room, the restaurant feels rural yet sophisticated, with food cooked over an open fire rotisserie-style a number of times each week.

All the rooms are furninshed with double or twin beds, bath/shower, WC, TV and beautiful views through the window.

It's funny that when we think of a skiing holiday in France the name Serre Chevalier may not be one of those that immediately springs to mind - but it darn well should! Serre Chevalier is close to the Italian border, made up of several villages on a valley floor well linked by buses, free if you have a lift pass.
