Meribel

Méribel-Mottaret has it all for skiers and snowboarders, no matter whether it's your first wibbly-wobbly venture on to the slopes or you're a proficient black-run skier. The adjoining resorts are set slap bang in the middle of Les 3 Vallées, so you'll have access to 600 - gulp, 600 - kms of runs, in three different valleys. You certainly won't be short of new experiences, including skiing across to nearby Courchevel and Val Thorens for a bit of a change of scene.

If you like something a bit alternative, you can choose off-piste, ski trekking and even heli-skiing. Cross-country lovers who prefer the flat to the steep downhill have 33kms of runs to pole along.

Choose Méribel-Mottaret for its excellent all-level skiing and snowboarding opportunities and spectacular scenery.

Apres-Ski in Meribel

Much of the accommodation in the villages is ski-in, ski-out which is a boon and there's plenty to occupy you after an exhilarating day on the slopes. Méribel is a lively place, packed with shops, bars and restaurants to delight everybody, including those who choose not to be adventurous on the snow. La Folie Douce is the place to be if you're looking for a lively party with table-top dancing. Mottaret is higher up the valley and is a more peaceful self-contained village with a relaxed friendly vibe, especially great for families. Don't pass by La Baleine Blanche without popping in for a great Savoyarde dinner.

There's nothing to beat warming your hands round a glass of vin chaud, as the sun go down over the mountains, or watching a twinkling torchlit ski procession winding its way down the slopes on a black velvet night.

Méribel-Mottaret offers the best of all possible ski worlds and après-ski heaven. You'd be mad not to give it a try and here at GetSkiing we can make it easy for you.

Gary's Little Gems in Meribel

Amazing to think that the original resort was conceived by a Scotsman, Colonel Peter Lindsay, who was looking for somewhere to ski away from Austria and Germany in the 1930s in the build-up to the Second World War.

This is great intermediate skiing with literally hundreds of miles to choose from and the ability to ski to Courchevel and Val Thorens only a valley away. Night life is excellent with great choice of bars and restaurants for all budgets.
