Ski Lake Louise

Voted Canada's best ski resort for three years in a row - and that's saying something because Canada has some top notch resorts - Lake Louise not only has fabulous skiing for every ability but it's set in the most breathtaking scenery of the Banff National Park. Until you've seen it for yourself, it's hard to imagine how stunning it is.

It recently hosted the men's and women's world cup races so that gives you an idea of the top end skiing. Yet Lake Louise is a firm family favourite with low level trails through the forest and high open slopes, with a choice of green, blue and black. Hoorah for mixed ability groups!

For beginners there is excellent choice and progression from the Wiwaxy to Eagle Meadows. About 50% of the runs are for intermediates, but groomed black runs - like the Meadowlark from the Grizzly Express gondola - are super-duper experiences too. You could also try the Boomerang and have fun coming back!

For thrill-seekers there are steep powder bowls with mogul runs and there's a fun terrain park with lots to do including snowcross and an airbag.

And then - with a Big3 ski pass you can ski at Mt. Norquay and Sunshine Village too, accessible by bus. What's not to like?

Après-ski Lake Louise

Lake Louise village is a small place with a few shops and the night-life is relatively quiet so perfect for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's the scenery that makes it stand out, above all the dramatic wilderness of mountains, but also the lake.

There are lovely places to chill out, like the Kokanee Kabin Deck and some wonderful entertainment such as a torchlight dinner and ski event. The Post Hotel (check out the wine cellar!) and Deer Lodge come thoroughly recommended or the slightly less fine-dining Timber Wolf Pizza.

Off the skis but on the snow, you can have fun at the Tube Park, or go snowshoeing - and above the snow, there's a sight-seeing gondola which is unmissable.
Family-friendly, glorious scenery, great skiing - that's Lake Louise. We can get you there with GetSkiing.

Gary's Little Gems

"Standing at the top of Lake Louise and looking across the valley at Mt Temple and the lake itself has to be one the most spectacular and beautiful views in the world, period. Breath in, soak it up and let yourself enjoy the great views, snow and friendly locals. For the off-piste enthusiast, the back bowls and tree skiing down some the chutes just need to be skied."
